TDT | Manama

The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) marked World First Aid Day under the theme “First Aid and Climate Change” with a community event at The Avenues Mall yesterday. The initiative highlighted the Society’s commitment to promoting essential skills that enable individuals to respond effectively to both health and environmental challenges.

Leadership
The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Nilofer Jahromi, BRCS Board Member and Head of the Young and Youth Committee, as well as the Society’s Agricultural Environmental Team. The program was coordinated with the First Aid Committee and other committees within the Society.

The activities attracted significant public participation and engagement, emphasizing the crucial role of first aid in addressing the growing impacts of climate change and the importance of rapid response during health emergencies caused by natural disasters.

Interactive Stations
The program featured a series of interactive stations designed to teach basic first aid skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), proper response to choking incidents, and treatment of minor injuries. Additionally, the event offered awareness sessions on the effects of climate change on public health and the necessary preparedness measures for related emergencies.

By linking humanitarian efforts with environmental responsibility, the initiative underscored the Society’s dedication to protecting both people and the planet.
