In a united crackdown on illegal labour practices, Bahrain’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) spearheaded a nationwide strike force of government agencies that swept through 860 shops across all governorates.

The coordinated campaign, carried out with the Ministry of Interior’s Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), governorate police directorates, and the Social Insurance Organization, resulted in legal measures against violations of labour market and residency laws.

United front The taskforce mounted 11 joint campaigns, including five in the Capital Governorate and two each in Muharraq, the Northern, and the Southern Governorates.

Officials described the action as proof of the strength of cross-agency coordination in defending Bahrain’s economic and social security.

The LMRA pledged that joint campaigns will continue, stressing that unified enforcement is central to safeguarding the competitiveness of the labour market and curbing practices that harm stability.

Citizens as allies

Members of the public were urged to support the national crackdown by reporting suspected violations through the LMRA website (www.lmra.gov. bh), the call centre (17506055), or the government’s Tawasul platform.
