Bahrain Launches Electronic Parcel Lockers to Enhance Postal Services
The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has introduced a new electronic locker service under Bahrain Post, marking a significant step in modernizing postal services and offering innovative solutions to improve convenience and efficiency for customers across the kingdom.
Fatima Abdullah Al-Da’aan, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Postal Services at the ministry, said the service is part of ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and provide high-quality postal services that meet customer expectations. She emphasized that the lockers offer practical and flexible options for parcel collection, catering to the needs of both individuals and businesses.
Al-Da’aan explained that the electronic lockers allow customers to receive parcels securely and at their convenience, without being tied to specific timings or visiting post offices. Customers receive a unique code and the locker location, and they can also authorize someone else to collect the parcel using the same code.
The lockers are strategically placed in major commercial hubs, ensuring parcels can be collected on time and securely, outside of standard office hours. Current locations include Seef Mall (Seef District, Muharraq, and Isa Town), Marassi Galleria, The Avenues, Souq Al-Barraha, Dragon City, and Saar Mall, with plans to expand to additional locations soon. Customers can access the lockers during each facility’s working hours.
The Ministry highlighted that this initiative is part of Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to developing a modern and integrated postal system, improving service quality, and reinforcing the kingdom’s position as a regional hub for postal and logistics services. It also reflects Bahrain’s vision to foster innovation and future readiness in service delivery.
