The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has reported a strong public response to its digital services during the first half of 2025, reflecting the success of its digital transformation efforts and the ease of access for citizens.

Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Information, Dunia Faisal Sarhan, said that the ministry’s website recorded around 117,000 visits in the past six months. Citizens and residents used the platform to learn about housing services and complete their transactions online through the ministry’s website and the Bahrain.bh national portal.

According to Sarhan, approximately 23,000 transactions were processed online during this period. The ministry currently offers 32 e-services, including housing maintenance requests, application status checks, and financing options such as the “Tasheel+” program. In the first half of the year, six services were newly launched or upgraded to enhance user experience.

The Remote Customer Service Center also saw growing interaction, with 4,930 virtual visits and 2,036 bookings for online financial consultations and in-person appointments. Sarhan noted that the popularity of these services reflects their simplicity and efficiency, supported by interactive communication channels that strengthen the connection between citizens and the ministry.

She emphasized that the ministry remains committed to expanding and improving its e-services, in line with the government’s 2023–2026 program to fully digitize government services and transactions.

The ministry’s digital efforts have earned recognition. The Remote Customer Service Center received the Platinum Shield in the government service centers evaluation program “Taqyeem 5.” The ministry also won the 2025 Bahrain eContent Award from the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) in the Government and Citizen Engagement category. Additionally, the ministry was honored for successfully integrating its services with the upgraded eKey 2.0, ensuring highly secure digital identity verification for users.
