The First High Criminal Court has sentenced a man to death for fatally stabbing his neighbour in the Shakhura area.
The case began when the Public Prosecution received a report from the Northern Governorate Police about the discovery of a body near the victim’s home. The body had multiple stab wounds.
A team from the Public Prosecution, accompanied by a forensic doctor and crime scene experts, quickly arrived at the scene. They examined the body and collected evidence.
Investigations revealed, through surveillance footage and witness statements, that the suspect—who is both a neighbour and a relative of the victim—had been waiting to attack him due to a longstanding personal dispute. The suspect ambushed the victim as he stepped out of his house, stabbing him several times with a knife.
During questioning, the suspect confessed to the crime, stating that he had made up his mind to kill the victim because of their ongoing conflict.
