The General Directorate of Civil Defence held a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Oil and Environment and Bapco Tazweed to discuss safety measures at fuel stations, following a recent incident at a privately operated station.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and stable operational environment, in line with best practices in the sector.
Discussions focused on reinforcing safety procedures, enhancing awareness of compliance with approved standards, intensifying oversight on fuel stations, and implementing regular inspection campaigns.
A comprehensive plan was also proposed to strengthen monitoring and improve emergency response capabilities.
