The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications is taking big steps to support a greener future in Bahrain by promoting the use of electric scooters.
As part of a nationwide push for sustainable and eco-friendly transportation, the ministry has licensed two companies to operate e-scooters in several key locations. These include the Nasser bin Hamad Cycling Path in Zallaq, Al Fateh Corniche, and Bahrain Bay—popular spots for both residents and visitors.
More companies are currently undergoing the approval process, as the ministry aims to expand the availability of e-scooters across the Kingdom. The initiative not only supports the environment but also encourages outdoor activity and easy short-distance travel.
This move is part of a broader vision to promote smart mobility options and reduce the carbon footprint in urban areas.
