Mico from the International Triathlon Club has accomplished a feat rarely seen in Bahrain’s sporting landscape — successfully running a 170-kilometer ultramarathon across the Kingdom.
But this was more than just a test of physical limits. Mico’s journey, which began at exactly 4:18 PM on Friday, June 6, and concluded triumphantly at 9:26 AM on Sunday, June 8 — spanning a punishing 41 hours and 8 minutes — was dedicated to a cause close to many hearts: the welfare of Bahrain’s cats and dogs.
All proceeds from the charity run are being donated to the Bahrain Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA) and the Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre, two organizations tirelessly working to protect and rehabilitate the Kingdom’s four-legged companions.
From blistered roads to sleepless hours, Mico’s ultramarathon wasn’t just a personal victory, but a symbol of compassion in motion. The initiative has sparked a wave of support online, with animal lovers and endurance athletes alike praising the effort as both "heroic" and "heartwarming."
170KM for a cause. 170KM for compassion. 170KM for change.
Congratulations, Mico — your run has not only crossed the finish line but also touched countless lives.
