Criminal Court Referral Looms for Driver in Viral Wrong-Way Incident

The Public Prosecution has launched a full investigation following the circulation of a shocking video on social media showing a driver recklessly speeding against traffic during a high-speed chase through Manama.
The footage, which quickly went viral, captured the dangerous pursuit in which the suspect drove in the wrong direction with blatant disregard for road safety, endangering lives and damaging property along the way. His reckless behavior escalated as he caused multiple traffic accidents before fleeing the scene.
According to the Head of the Traffic Prosecution, the suspect has since been apprehended and interrogated. The Public Prosecution has ordered his detention pending further investigation, which is currently ongoing. Authorities confirmed that the case is being prepared for referral to the Criminal Court.
Meanwhile, the driver of the second vehicle involved in the chase has also been referred to the relevant authorities for further action.
Officials reiterated their firm commitment to ensuring public safety and stressed that such behavior will be met with zero tolerance under the law.
