The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR) and the Russian Arbitration Center (RAC) at the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in the resolution of international disputes.
The agreement was formalized during the Russian International Arbitration Congress (RIAC) held in Moscow, with the MoU signed by Professor Marike Paulsson, Vice Chairperson of the BCDR Board of Trustees, and Yulia Mullina, CEO of the Russian Arbitration Center, at the RAC headquarters.
This strategic partnership focuses on promoting cross-border collaboration in arbitration through joint initiatives such as conferences, seminars, and workshops to be held both in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation. The MoU also emphasizes the mutual exchange of expertise, encouraging the active participation of arbitration professionals from both countries in each other's flagship events.
Professor Paulsson highlighted that this partnership reinforces BCDR’s dedication to shaping the future of international arbitration. “By combining knowledge and resources, we aim to deliver greater value to the global business and legal communities,” she noted.
Echoing this sentiment, Yulia Mullina described the MoU as a significant step for the Russian arbitration sector. She expressed optimism about the collaboration, underscoring its potential to facilitate the sharing of best practices and to enhance arbitration capabilities across jurisdictions.
The MoU marks a new chapter in strengthening legal cooperation between Bahrain and Russia, and underscores both institutions' commitment to promoting efficient and effective dispute resolution worldwide.
