The Bahrain Cricket Federation announced that the country will host the first-ever ICC Global Level 3 Coaching Course, a premier coaching certification program by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The event will take place from May 26 to 30, 2025, marking a historic milestone in the nation’s sporting journey.
The announcement was made during a press conference in Manama, led by Mohammad Mansoor, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Bahrain Cricket Federation. He was joined by Sami Ali, President of the Bahrain Cricket Federation; Kishore Kewalram, General Secretary; and Yusuf Yaqoob Lori, Director of Information and Follow-up at the Capital Governorate.
“This is a proud and momentous occasion for Bahrain,” said Mansoor during the briefing. “Hosting the ICC Global Level 3 Coaching Course in the Kingdom for the first time reflects our commitment to advancing elite-level cricket education, not only within Bahrain but across Associate Nations.”
Mansoor credited the support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the General Sports Authority, for making such global sporting initiatives possible. “His Highness’s vision and dedication to sports and sports tourism are steadily positioning Bahrain as a significant player on the international sports stage,” he added.
The ICC Global Level 3 Coaching Course is one of the highest certification programs offered by the ICC, aimed at developing elite cricket coaches globally. The event will bring together top cricketing minds and educators from around the world.
Sami Ali, President of the Bahrain Cricket Federation, emphasized the long-term impact of the course: “This initiative is not just a milestone for cricket in Bahrain but a catalyst for developing high-performance coaching capabilities across the region.”
The hosting of this prestigious course is expected to significantly boost cricket development efforts in Bahrain, inspire future generations of coaches, and strengthen the Kingdom’s reputation as a hub for international sporting excellence.
