The Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al Hurr) has expressed deep sorrow following a tragic incident at a Bapco Refining unit that resulted in the death of two employees and left a third critical injured.

In a statement yesterday, the union extended heartfelt condolences to the families and colleagues of the deceased, praying for their souls and wishing the injured worker a quick and full recovery.

The union described Bapco as one of the Kingdom’s leading national companies in applying the highest standards of occupational health and safety.

It is noted that despite the company’s strong record of preventive measures, the hazardous nature of work in the refining and oil industries demands constant and thorough reviews of safety systems and a reinforcement of a culture of prevention and professional commitment at all levels.

The union called for a full investigation into the circumstances of the incident to determine its causes.

It also stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination with relevant authorities and emergency teams to enhance readiness and preparedness for any potential emergencies in the workplace.
