HM King praised for supporting Palestinian cause

Bahrain’s efforts to mobilise Arab and international support for Gaza’s reconstruction, without the displacement of its residents, have been commended by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s leadership in advancing Palestinian rights and unity at the recent Palestine Summit.
This came as HM the King, current President of the Arab Summit, received a letter from President Abbas, who is also the Palestine Liberation Organisation Executive Committee chairman. In his letter, President Abbas expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for HM the King’s leadership of the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the summit level (Palestine Summit), recently held in Cairo, as a step towards strengthening Arab unity in the face of challenges.
Address President Abbas valued the address of His Majesty, which addressed many fundamental issues that underscored Bahrain’s firm and unwavering position in supporting the steadfastness and permanence of the Palestinian people in their homeland as a legitimate right.
He noted that HM King Hamad also emphasised the importance of holding an international conference to secure Arab and international funding for its implementation, affirming the support for the efforts of the State of Palestine to assume its responsibilities in Gaza.
Humanitarian aid President Abbas also valued Bahrain’s continuous support for the Palestinian people, particularly in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The Palestine leader expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s efforts in international forums to support the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to freedom, independence, and a sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
