HM King Hamad Arrives in Cairo for Emergency Arab Summit
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Cairo today on an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt to participate in the Emergency Arab Summit, scheduled to convene on Tuesday.
Upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport, HM the King was welcomed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, and Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
Expressing his gratitude, HM the King conveyed his appreciation to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for hosting the crucial summit. He emphasized the significance of the meeting, highlighting that it comes at a critical and sensitive time that necessitates continuous consultation and coordination among Arab leaders to address pressing challenges affecting Arab national security and the interests of their nations and people.
HM King Hamad underscored the importance of the summit's convening in Egypt, acknowledging its role in reinforcing Arab solidarity and unity. He reiterated Bahrain’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding national security, supporting just Arab causes—especially the Palestinian cause—and defending the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom, justice, dignity, and the establishment of an independent, fully sovereign state.
Additionally, HM the King highlighted the necessity of advancing efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region, ensuring stability and prosperity for all. He extended his best wishes to the Arab nations in their ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being of their people and fulfill their aspirations for peace, security, stability, and development.
Earlier today, HM King Hamad, who currently presides over the Arab Summit, departed for Egypt to lead Bahrain’s delegation at the Emergency Arab Summit. The summit is expected to focus on recent developments concerning the Palestinian cause and broader regional issues.
