Bahrain and UAE Strengthen Cultural and Historical Cooperation with MoU Signing

In a significant move to bolster cultural and historical cooperation, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing expertise exchange and preserving shared heritage.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Affairs at the Royal Court, and Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the UAE’s National Archives and Library. The MoU formalizes collaboration between Bahrain’s Royal Archives and King Hamad Digital Library and the UAE’s National Archives and Library.

The agreement encompasses key areas such as document exchange, participation in cultural activities, and the advancement of archiving and documentation practices. It also aims to foster cooperation in preserving and managing historical records and national heritage.

Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi emphasized that the MoU strengthens bilateral ties and supports historical record preservation efforts, benefiting from the UAE’s expertise in archiving and digital technology. He noted that this partnership aligns with Bahrain’s commitment to maintaining its rich historical legacy.

Abdullah Majid Al Ali underscored the longstanding relationship between the two nations in the field of archiving and documentation. He described the MoU as a pivotal step in fortifying joint efforts to safeguard national heritage and enhance the role of both institutions in cultural documentation.

The agreement also includes provisions for training in documentary heritage preservation, consulting on historical document management, manuscript restoration, and the conservation of audiovisual records. These initiatives aim to ensure the sustainability of historical documentation and the advancement of best practices in the field.
