Alba’s role in driving forward economic growth stressed

Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met Chairman of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.

During the meeting, the Crown Prince highlighted Alba’s significant role in driving forward economic growth within the Kingdom, and said that Alba’s new project “Line 6 Expansion” showed the Kingdom’s commitment to key development projects that are aimed at improving citizens’ living standards.

Prince Salman also noted that the expansion project would enable Alba to become the largest aluminium smelter in the world, and stressed that the modernisation of downstream aluminium facilities reinforced the Kingdom’s standings in the sector.

Moreover, the Crown Prince expressed his appreciation to the Bahraini workforce, which is the driving force behind the continued growth across key economic sectors. 

In conclusion, Prince Salman congratulated the chairman of Alba for receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Middle East Business Leaders Awards, and praised his contributions to the overall performance of Alba.

For his part, the Chairman of Alba expressed his gratitude for the Crown Prince’s continued support to Alba and its Line 6 Expansion project. 

Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board Khalid Al Rumaihi and Chief Executive Officer of Alba Tim Murray also attended the meeting.
