Illegal gathering suspects queried
Manama : Nine suspects arrested for illegally gathering on a public road in Duraz earlier this month have been interrogated.
An investigation was launched by the Public Prosecution following a report from the Budaiya Police Station that a number of people held an illegal gathering in Duraz on July 15.
“The nine suspects were questioned in the presence of their defence. Two were ordered to be released considering personal conditions and senility,” said Northern Governorate Prosecution Chief Prosecutor Adnan Mattar yesterday.
However the Public Prosecution remanded the remaining suspects in custody, pending investigations. They had been charged with holding an assembly in violation of the provisions of the Law.
