Bahrain Condemns Renewed Iranian Attacks on UAE
Bahrain has strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates with a drone, describing the incident as a serious violation of the UAE’s sovereignty and a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks contravene international law, the UN Charter, Security Council Resolution 2817 and the principles of good neighbourliness.
Bahrain affirmed its full solidarity with the UAE and support for all measures taken by the country to safeguard its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity and protect citizens and residents.
The ministry also commended the UAE Armed Forces and air defence systems for intercepting the aircraft over UAE territorial waters.
Bahrain renewed its call for the UN Security Council to take urgent and decisive action to ensure Iran complies with international law and the UN Charter and ends actions that threaten regional peace and stability.
The Kingdom also stressed the importance of respecting freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and other vital waterways, calling for efforts to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation.
