Three people were killed in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to the territory’s civil defence agency, while the Israeli military said it had targeted Hamas militants.

The latest violence comes despite a US-backed ceasefire that took effect in October 2025. Israel has continued carrying out strikes against Palestinians it says are members of Hamas.

The civil defence agency said a man died from injuries sustained in an Israeli drone strike on a house in the Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

In southern Gaza, another man was killed when an Israeli strike hit his tent in the Al-Mawasi area east of Khan Yunis, the agency said.

A third person was killed and several others injured in an Israeli strike near an intersection in western Gaza City, according to the civil defence agency, which operates as a rescue service under Hamas authorities.

The Israeli military, contacted by AFP, confirmed that it had carried out strikes in the areas, saying they targeted “Hamas terrorists”, but provided no further details.

Israeli army chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir said on Tuesday that the military would continue efforts to demilitarise Gaza and disarm Hamas, pledging to use “all necessary means” despite recent US efforts to advance the ceasefire.

The Israeli military has also said it will continue pursuing people it accuses of involvement in the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, attack that triggered the war.
