Sydney: Australian police launched a major murder investigation after a dumped roadside suitcase in rural Australia was suspected of containing human remains, only to discover the figure inside was actually a lifelike sex doll.

A specialized strike force of homicide detectives and forensic experts was immediately deployed after passersby reported the abandoned bag.

The initial confusion was heightened by the doll’s detailed appearance, which included clothing, hair, a nose piercing, and realistic markings that closely resembled genuine bruises and grazes. These convincing features led authorities to treat the area as an active crime scene.

The high-alert homicide probe concluded shortly after forensic examinations confirmed the figure was made entirely of synthetic material.

Police officially closed the investigation and stood down the strike force, confirming that no crime had taken place in what turned out to be a bizarre roadside false alarm.
