McCullum backs Fleming to lead England’s Test revival

London: Brendon McCullum praised Stephen Fleming as his successor as England's Test coach, describing the former New Zealand captain as 'like me, but better.'
Fleming will take over England's red ball side later this year, succeeding McCullum, who will continue to lead the white ball squad. The appointment brings together two former New Zealand teammates, with Fleming having substantial coaching experience from international and franchise cricket.
McCullum said that Fleming has many of the qualities needed to lead England, praising his calm personality, tactical intelligence, and ability to form close bonds with players.
Fleming's first significant task will be England's impending winter trip of South Africa. He will also collaborate with returning Test captain Joe Root after Ben Stokes' retirement.
The ECB's decision signifies the return to different coaches for England's Test and limited-overs squads, with Fleming expected to continue the aggressive attitude created during McCullum's stint while introducing his own techniques.
