Iraq, Lebanon Hold High-Level Talks to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Prime ministers discuss economic partnerships, regional security and development cooperation

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam co-chaired high-level bilateral talks in Baghdad on Sunday, with ministers from both countries in attendance.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation across economic, political and security sectors, while exploring opportunities to expand the partnership between Iraq and Lebanon. Both sides highlighted the importance of closer collaboration to support sustainable development and the shared interests of their peoples.

Prime Minister Al-Zaidi reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties between Iraq and Lebanon, stressing Baghdad’s commitment to further enhancing bilateral relations through productive economic partnerships across key development sectors.

The Iraqi premier also underscored the need for close coordination between the two countries in addressing regional challenges. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts to promote regional stability, reduce tensions and support initiatives aimed at ending ongoing conflicts.
