Ukraine Questions South Korea Oil Shipments To Russia

Ukraine on Tuesday said oil supplies shipped to Russia through South Korea had helped Moscow offset losses in refining capacity following recent strikes on its fuel facilities.

Britain’s The Guardian reported that around 176,000 tonnes of oil products were shipped through South Korea in July and August, citing port records and ship-tracking data.

Vladyslav Vlasiuk, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on sanctions, said the shipments were “in sharp contrast” to South Korea’s sanctions policy.

The comments come as Ukraine continues to target Russian energy infrastructure, while Kyiv and its allies examine how energy shipments may be affecting the impact of sanctions and disruptions to Russia’s refining capacity.
