Pakistan Says It Destroyed Four Drones from Afghanistan

Islamabad: Pakistan's military said Wednesday it intercepted four drones launched from Afghanistan into the southwestern province of Balochistan, calling it the latest cross-border aggression amid fast growing tensions between the two neighbours.

According to the military, the drones were detected and destroyed before they could reach their targets. Islamabad accused Afghanistan's Taliban authorities of aiding militant groups fighting against Pakistan, and said the drones came from Afghan territory.

The incident occurred just days after Pakistan conducted airstrikes in Afghanistan, with both sides exchanging accusations over support for armed groups responsible for cross-border attacks. Relations between Islamabad and Kabul have worsened significantly in recent months, as violence along the border has escalated.

While Kabul denied the accusations and blamed Islamabad of violating its sovereignty, Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Taliban regime in Afghanistan to stop militants from using Afghan territory to launch strikes.
