OIC Observatory Reports Escalation in Settlement Activity and Violence in West Bank
The Media Observatory of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) on Israeli Crimes Against Palestinians has reported a significant escalation in settlement activity, military operations, and settler violence across the occupied Palestinian territories during the week of June 23 to 29, 2026.
Settlement Expansion and Attacks in West Bank
According to its 135th weekly report, the Observatory documented 16 settlement-related activities, most notably the construction of six new settlement roads in the Ramallah and Bethlehem areas, carried out by settlers and Israeli occupation forces.
During the same period, it recorded 100 settler attacks across multiple areas of the occupied West Bank, reflecting a continued rise in tensions on the ground.
Hundreds of Military Raids and Arrests
The report also documented 365 raids conducted by Israeli occupation forces across West Bank cities and villages. These operations resulted in the arrest of 165 Palestinians, including five children, the Observatory said.
Casualties Across Gaza and the West Bank
The Observatory further reported continued casualties, documenting 26 killed and 150 injured during the week.
- In the Gaza Strip (Gaza Strip), 21 people were killed and 140 injured, along with the recovery of two bodies.
- In the West Bank (West Bank), three people were killed and 10 injured were recorded.
It added that the total number of fatalities since October 7, 2023, has reached 74,197 killed and 178,377 injured.
Incidents at Holy Sites
The report also highlighted 1,080 Israeli-related incidents during the week, including events at religious sites.
It noted that settlers attempted to bring sacrificial offerings into the compound of the Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Hutta Gate, while Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian at one of the mosque’s entrances.
In addition, Israeli occupation forces stormed the Ibrahimi Mosque and continued to prevent the call to prayer for the eighth consecutive day, according to the Observatory.
