ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates lifted its war-related travel ban to Lebanon on Monday, allowing Emirati nationals to visit the country for the first time in weeks. The foreign ministry announced the policy change effective June 29, 2026, reversing restrictions brought on by the recent Middle East conflict and concerns regarding regional influence.
Under the new directive, the ministry requested that all citizens register with its official consular services platform before departing for Lebanon.
The initial travel ban was enacted in April and also restricted travel to Iraq and Iran due to rapid developments in the regional war.
The regional conflict was eventually halted by an April ceasefire. During the hostilities, Gulf states experienced the brunt of Iran's retaliatory aerial campaign, which followed targeted United States and Israeli strikes on the Islamic Republic beginning on February 28.
In a related development, commercial flights officially resumed between Tehran and Dubai on Monday for the first time since the war. However, the UAE government clarified that the ban prohibiting its nationals from traveling to Iran remains firmly in place.
