Monaco: A targeted parcel bomb blast in Monaco wounded Ukrainian oligarch Vadym Yermolaiev and two other individuals on Monday evening, marking an unprecedented and shocking act of violence for the ultra-safe principality.

The powerful explosion occurred around 9:00 pm inside a residential building situated directly along the border with France.

The blast left an older couple in their 50s or 60s with life-threatening injuries, while a 13-year-old teenager suffered less severe wounds. Investigators reported that the hidden explosive device was packed with bolts and buckshot, intentionally left by a suspect inside the building lobby.

Monaco's Prince Albert II vehemently condemned the bombing as a heinous crime. Public prosecutor Stephane Thibault noted that video surveillance footage showed a suspect fleeing the scene toward the neighboring French municipality of Beausoleil.

The prominent victim, Yermolaiev, is a wealthy multi-millionaire resident who has been subject to strict sanctions from Kyiv since December 2023. Ukrainian authorities issued these sanctions due to his ongoing alcohol business activities in Russian-occupied Crimea.
