Moscow: Russia warned that it will increase its drone and missile attacks on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and has urged foreigners and diplomats to leave the city immediately.

Russian officials said in a statement that upcoming strikes will target Kyiv's military-related infrastructure and decision-making institutions. The warning follows an upsurge in long-range attacks throughout Ukraine, with previous strikes causing significant damage to the city and civilian deaths. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, extensive Russian strikes in Kyiv and surrounding areas on Saturday night caused four deaths and over 100 injuries.

Ukraine called Russia's threats ‘nothing short of shameless blackmail’ and urged on its allies to put more pressure on Moscow.

Ukrainian officials denied Moscow's accusations, blaming Russia of deliberately attacking civilian areas in order to intimidate the people and the global community. Kyiv officials promised to preserve essential services and take defensive measures in spite of the threats.

Western diplomats in Ukraine have stated that they will stay and closely monitor the security situation. As the conflict proceeds into a new phase of intense aerial warfare, the most recent reports indicate an increase in rhetoric and military pressure.
