UK Weather: Country Forecast to Break Record for Hottest May Day

LONDON: The United Kingdom is on track to experience its hottest May day since records began as an intense early-season heatwave sweeps across the country over the holiday weekend. ‘
According to Met Office data, temperatures are forecast to reach an unprecedented 33°C (91.4°F) in southern England and the Midlands. This predicted surge is expected to surpass the UK's current all-time May maximum temperature record of 32.8 degrees Celsius, which has stood unchallenged since 1922.
The extreme weather conditions have prompted the UK Health Security Agency to issue health alerts for regions including London, the Midlands, and the South East.
Authorities warn that the unusually high temperatures could disrupt local health and social care services, posing a distinct risk to vulnerable populations.
Meteorologists attribute the exceptional spell of weather to a dominant high-pressure system bringing dry, sunny conditions across England and Wales, pushing local temperatures higher than those of a typical tropical holiday destination
