Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates and France are deepening their long-standing strategic and economic partnership, with both sides focusing on expanding cooperation in areas such as technology, artificial intelligence, energy, defence, and infrastructure. The development was highlighted by the CEO of Business France during a visit to the UAE, reflecting growing momentum in bilateral ties.

Louis Margueritte, head of Business France, said that the two countries are increasingly complementary in their economic strengths and are working to accelerate investment flows and joint projects, especially in future-focused industries like AI and advanced technologies.

He noted that the UAE is no longer just a key market for France but has become a strategic partner in building new global industries. The two countries already share strong cooperation in traditional sectors such as defence, energy, and transport, and are now expanding into digital innovation and emerging technologies.

Trade between France and the UAE has grown significantly, reaching about €10.8 billion in 2025, according to officials. Overall trade between France and the Gulf region has also risen sharply, showing stronger regional integration and business activity.

More than 600 French companies are currently operating in the UAE, spanning industries including energy, healthcare, manufacturing, luxury goods, and infrastructure. Officials say this reflects the UAE’s role as a major regional hub for international business and investment.

The partnership is also supported through ongoing forums and initiatives designed to connect businesses, investors, and government stakeholders from both countries. These platforms aim to create long-term economic opportunities and strengthen strategic cooperation.

As global competition in technology and energy intensifies, both France and the UAE are positioning their partnership as a model for innovation-driven economic collaboration.
