Iran said it is reviewing Washington’s latest response aimed at ending tensions between the two countries, while U.S. President Donald Trump indicated he was willing to wait a few more days

Speaking on the negotiations, Trump said he still preferred a diplomatic solution but warned that military action remained possible if no agreement was reached. He reiterated that Iran must never obtain nuclear weapons and suggested the United States was prepared to act if talks collapsed.

The negotiations come amid a fragile ceasefire following months of regional conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel. Pakistan has continued to play a mediating role between the two sides, facilitating multiple rounds of indirect communication.

Iranian officials and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have warned that renewed attacks could trigger a broader regional confrontation. Tehran has also pushed demands including limits on U.S. military presence in the region and guarantees linked to the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil shipping route.

The uncertainty surrounding the talks has continued to affect global energy markets, with shipping disruptions and security concerns in the Strait of Hormuz remaining a major international concern.
