King Willem-Alexander and Prime Minister Jetten will receive Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a two-day official visit to the Netherlands on Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17. The visit will reportedly focus on strengthening bilateral ties and on formally signing a Strategic Partnership between the two countries, the government stated.

The visit will begin on Saturday, May 16, when the King, together with Queen Máxima, will receive Modi at Paleis Huis ten Bosch. A lunch will follow at the palace for Modi and part of his delegation.

Minister Berendsen of Foreign Affairs will attend, along with CEOs of Dutch companies and representatives from the arts, culture, and science sectors. Prime Minister Jetten will separately receive Modi at the Catshuis. Both leaders will participate in a roundtable discussion with CEOs hosted by Minister Sjoerdsma of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.

Later Saturday, a cooperation agreement between the two parties will be signed. The prime ministers will then join another roundtable with Dutch company CEOs to discuss economic cooperation between the Netherlands and India.

Minister Sjoerdsma will deliver opening remarks, after which both prime ministers will close the session with short speeches. On Sunday, Modi and Jetten will conclude with a work visit focused on water management.
