Porsche Taycan Turbo GT With Manthey Kit Sets New Nürburgring Record

Porsche has announced a new Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT equipped with the new Manthey Kit, completing the circuit in 6 minutes and 55.533 seconds.

The lap time, achieved by Porsche development driver Lars Kern, makes the vehicle the fastest electric executive car on the Nürburgring, beating the previous class record by nine seconds.

According to Porsche, the upgraded Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package was also 12 seconds faster than the previous fastest lap set by the standard Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package.

The newly developed Manthey Kit introduces several performance-focused upgrades, including aerodynamic improvements, suspension tuning, and drivetrain enhancements designed specifically for track driving.

Porsche said the aerodynamic changes increase downforce by more than three times compared to the standard model, while power output has been increased to 600 kW — 20 kW higher than the regular version.

The vehicle’s “Attack Mode,” a temporary power boost system, can now deliver up to 130 kW for short bursts of extra performance.

Kevin Giek, Head of the Taycan model line at Porsche, said the project marked the first time a Manthey performance kit had been developed for an electric sports car, bringing the company’s motorsport-focused upgrades into the EV segment.

The Manthey Kit will be available from June as a retrofit package for all Taycan Turbo GT models equipped with the Weissach Package.
