LONDON; Metropolitan Police are investigating a ‘terrorist incident’ in Golders Green, north London, after two Jewish men were stabbed on Wednesday. The victims, aged 76 and 34, are currently in stable condition.

A 45-year-old British national, born in Somalia, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after being subdued by Shomrim volunteers and police using an electroshock weapon.

The attack has sparked widespread condemnation from King Charles III and Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the latter of whom convened an emergency meeting to coordinate security and extremism responses.

A group known as Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HAYI), which has links to Iran, claimed a ‘lone wolf’ was responsible for the assault. This incident follows a series of antisemitic attacks in the UK, including arson on synagogues and a deadly October assault in Manchester, amid heightened tensions from the ongoing conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran.
