WASHINGTON DC: President Donald Trump confirmed Saturday that formal talks with Iran have officially begun in Islamabad, Pakistan. During a recent interview, Trump described Iran as a ‘failed state’ and noted that negotiations are already underway to gauge Tehran's true intentions.
He stated that an assessment of the situation would be clear within a very short period. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump addressed concerns over the current lack of oil flow, suggesting the waterway would not remain closed and should reopen in the near future. He further highlighted America's significant energy capacity, noting a surplus of domestic oil and gas.
Trump remarked that ships from around the world are currently heading to the United States to load oil, emphasizing that the U.S. has plenty of supply to meet demand during this period of diplomatic transition.
