Pakistan Engages Türkiye, Egypt in High-Level Talks on Regional Stability

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate high-level meetings with the foreign ministers of Türkiye and Egypt, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing evolving regional challenges.
Dar first met with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who is visiting Pakistan alongside counterparts from Saudi Arabia and Egypt for consultations on regional developments and ongoing de-escalation efforts.
During the meeting, both sides underscored the deep-rooted and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, built on shared history, culture, and mutual respect. They reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explored avenues to further strengthen their longstanding strategic partnership. Discussions also covered the evolving situation in Iran, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of dialogue and sustained diplomatic engagement to ensure peace and stability. The two sides reaffirmed their support for each other’s core national interests and agreed to maintain close coordination.
In a separate meeting, Dar held talks with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to its longstanding and brotherly relations with Egypt. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in bilateral ties, driven by recent high-level exchanges.
The two ministers emphasized the need to enhance trade and investment, activate bilateral mechanisms such as the Joint Ministerial Commission, and promote business-to-business linkages. Pakistan also appreciated Egypt’s continued support in the health sector, particularly in efforts to combat hepatitis C, and welcomed ongoing collaboration.
Defence and security cooperation also featured prominently, with both sides agreeing to expand collaboration through training exchanges and institutional frameworks.
Regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East, were also discussed. Both sides stressed the importance of restraint, de-escalation, and resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy. Pakistan also acknowledged Egypt’s role in facilitating humanitarian assistance to Gaza and supporting relief efforts.
The meetings concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen cooperation across all areas of mutual interest and to maintain close coordination at multilateral platforms, including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
