Kuwait Extinguishes Airport Fuel Tank Fire After 58 Hours

Kuwait’s firefighting authorities have successfully extinguished a massive blaze that burned for 58 consecutive hours at fuel storage tanks in Kuwait International Airport, following hostile drone attacks.

In a statement on Saturday, the Kuwait Fire Force confirmed that its teams, supported by the Kuwait Army, National Guard, and personnel from the oil sector, brought the fire fully under control after an intensive multi-agency operation.

Brigadier Mohammad Al-Ghareeb, Director of Public Relations and Media and official spokesperson, said during a media briefing that the incident resulted only in material damage, with no human casualties reported.

He revealed that since the beginning of what he described as Iranian aggression on Kuwait, firefighting teams have dealt with 82 unusual incidents across the country. These included fires caused by direct strikes, shrapnel, and damage from falling debris.

Over the past 24 hours alone, emergency crews continued to respond to multiple fires triggered by drone and missile attacks, as well as debris from air defense interceptions targeting key facilities.

Authorities have urged both citizens and residents to remain vigilant and avoid approaching fire sites or suspicious objects, warning that debris may contain hazardous or highly flammable materials. The public has been advised to report any such incidents immediately via the emergency hotline (112), leaving response efforts to specialized teams.

Al-Ghareeb emphasized that all personnel remain committed to their national duty, prioritizing the protection of lives, property, and public safety.

He also expressed prayers for the continued safety and stability of Kuwait under the leadership of Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
