Abu Dhabi: HRH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, has underscored the serious implications of Iran’s continued attacks on Gulf states, calling for urgent diplomacy and dialogue to prevent further military escalation.

During phone calls with regional leaders, including Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, King Abdullah II and Joseph Aoun, Sheikh Mohamed stressed the importance of coordinated efforts to restore stability.

The UAE has faced a series of missile and drone attacks from Iran since the conflict began three weeks ago. Jordan and Qatar have also been targeted, reflecting the widening scope of the crisis.

The conflict has had a severe humanitarian impact across the region. In Lebanon, around one million people have been displaced, while nearly a thousand have been killed in Israel’s renewed hostilities with Hezbollah.

The Iran-backed group intensified the situation earlier this month by launching missile attacks on Israel, aligning with Tehran’s broader retaliation in the ongoing war involving the United States and Israel.

According to WAM, the leaders also exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, expressing hopes for peace, stability and prosperity across the Arab and Islamic world.
