UAE Shuts Down Iranian-Linked Hospital
The United Arab Emirates has ordered the closure of a Dubai hospital linked to the Iranian state, signaling a sharp deterioration in relations with Tehran. The decision comes amid an ongoing aerial campaign by Iran, which has launched over 2,000 missiles and drones at the UAE since February 28, following US and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.
In response to the attacks, Abu Dhabi has recalled its ambassador to Iran and shut down multiple Iranian-linked institutions, including schools. The closure of the hospital, which employs around 700 staff, underscores a growing move toward complete diplomatic severance, despite decades of economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Analysts say this development marks a significant escalation in the regional conflict, as Gulf states adjust their policies in response to Iran’s military aggression.
