Iran Missiles Hit Southern Israel, 100+ Injured
wo Iranian missiles struck southern Israel on Saturday, injuring more than 100 people in the most destructive attack of the ongoing three-week war. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed retaliation “on all fronts.”
Major Damage in Arad and Dimona
In the town of Arad, first responders reported 75 injured, 10 critically, as missiles tore through residential buildings. Nearby Dimona saw 33 wounded, including a 10-year-old boy in serious condition. Footage showed craters and twisted rubble.
Dimona hosts a facility widely believed to house the Middle East’s only nuclear arsenal, though Israel has never publicly confirmed its existence. The Israeli army confirmed a “direct missile hit on a building” in Dimona, with casualties at multiple sites.
Netanyahu Vows Retaliation
Netanyahu described Saturday as a “very difficult evening” and promised continued strikes on Iran in response.
Iran Claims Retaliation
Iran said the missile strikes on Dimona were revenge for Israeli attacks on its Natanz nuclear facility. Natanz, home to underground uranium-enrichment centrifuges, was damaged during the June 2025 war.
UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi urged restraint to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident.
Israeli Counterstrike
The Israeli military reported striking a facility inside a Tehran university used by Iran’s military industries to develop missile and nuclear weapon components.
