Iran Open to Verification of Non-Nuclear Weapons

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran is open to verification measures confirming that it is not pursuing nuclear weapons, as the Islamic Republic resumed nuclear negotiations with the United States on Tuesday.

“We are absolutely not seeking nuclear weapons,” Pezeshkian said in an interview published Tuesday. “If anyone wants to verify this, we are open to such verification to take place.”

The remarks come amid renewed efforts to revive discussions aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear program and easing tensions between Tehran and Washington.
