As Dubai prepares to ring in 2026, the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi and local authorities have coordinated a massive logistics plan to ensure the public can witness the iconic Burj Khalifa fireworks without the premium price tag. While high-end restaurant tables in Downtown Dubai can command prices as high as Dh20,000, Emaar has confirmed a wide array of free public viewing zones operating on a first-come, first-served basis. These official gates, including areas like Boulevard Heights, Burj Vista, and South Ridge, will feature LED screens and live entertainment, though visitors are warned that access points will close the moment capacity is reached. For those looking for a slightly more relaxed experience, alternative viewing spots such as the Dubai Canal Waterfall, Dubai Creek Harbour, and the Lulu Bridge near the Dubai Frame offer clear vistas of the display from a distance.
To facilitate the movement of millions of spectators, the Dubai Metro will run non-stop for 43 hours starting from the morning of December 31, though the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station is scheduled to close by 5:00 PM to manage crowd density. Commuters are advised to use neighbouring stations, such as Financial Centre or Business Bay, and ensure their Nol cards have a minimum balance of Dh15 for a return trip. For those driving, the RTA has set a strict timeline for road closures, beginning with the internal boulevard and Financial Centre roads at 4:00 PM, culminating in a full closure of Sheikh Zayed Road at 11:00 PM. Following the celebration, a fleet of free shuttle buses will be stationed at hubs such as Al Wasl Club and Al Kifaf to transport visitors back to transportation links, ensuring a safe and organised conclusion to one of the world's most-watched New Year's Eve events.
