27-Year-Old Indian Expat Killed in Ras Al Khaimah as Construction Wall Collapses in Torrential Rains

Dubai: A young Indian expatriate from India lost his life in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, after a wall at a construction site collapsed on him during heavy rains and strong winds.
Kerala native Salman Fariz (27), a delivery worker at a cafeteria, was delivering an order around 3 a.m. Thursday when the tragedy struck. According to media reports, he sought refuge from the torrential rains by parking his bike half way and sheltering under a half-constructed structure, which collapsed, crushing him under it. His body was discovered by the workers in the site in the morning.
According to reports, Salman has been planning to return to Kerala in a few months to marry his fiancée.
Authorities will repatriate his body to Kerala on Friday night after legal procedures.
