Manama – The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Tajikistan are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, marking three decades of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect between the two brotherly nations.
The milestone reflects the enduring ties developed under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan. Over the years, relations between the two countries have continued to grow, founded on shared human values, trust, and common interests.
Both sides expressed pride in the strong partnership between their leaderships and peoples, emphasizing a shared commitment to advancing stability, prosperity, and mutual benefit. The relationship has been steadily nurtured through sustained engagement and a clear vision for long-term cooperation.
The exchange of high-level visits over the past three decades has played a key role in strengthening mutual understanding and expanding cooperation across political, economic, cultural, and social fields. These engagements underline the importance both countries place on structured dialogue to reinforce existing collaboration, explore new areas of partnership, encourage innovation, and address emerging global challenges.
Looking ahead, Bahrain and Tajikistan reaffirmed their intention to deepen cooperation in priority sectors, including trade and investment, civil aviation and air transport, economic and technical collaboration, tourism, culture, education, and capacity building. Both sides stressed the importance of coordination among relevant authorities, in partnership with the private sector, to unlock new opportunities and achieve sustainable development outcomes.
The two countries also reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation within multilateral and regional frameworks, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). Through these platforms, both nations aim to promote global peace and security, sustainable development, and intercultural dialogue.
As they mark 30 years of diplomatic relations since 1995, Bahrain and Tajikistan expressed confidence that their bilateral ties will continue to expand and flourish, guided by mutual respect, shared interests, and a longstanding spirit of friendship in the years ahead.
