Manama: A sudden breakdown at web‑infrastructure giant Cloudflare on Tuesday caused a domino effect, taking down X, BenefitPay and a slew of other apps. Cash‑counter services and AI tools went dark, disrupting millions of users worldwide.
Cloudflare’s status page noted: “We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem. More updates to follow shortly.”
It later added: “We are seeing services recover, but customers may continue to observe higher‑than‑normal error rates as we continue remediation efforts.
Cloudflare shields websites from hackers, filters out fake traffic and speeds up page loading. Since millions of websites worldwide rely on its services, the outage can cause a ripple across a huge chunk of the internet.
