UAE Initiates Wedding of 54 Couples in Gaza Strip on 54th National Day
Manama: In celebration of the UAE’s 54th National Day (Eid Al Etihad), the country has launched a mass‑wedding initiative in the Gaza Strip called ‘The Dress of Joy’. The project will fund and organise weddings for 54 grooms in Gaza, aiming to support youth and ease the financial burden on families devastated by two years of war.

Palestinian nationals aged at least 27, residing permanently in Gaza, from low‑income households, not employed by any government entity, and meeting age/medical fitness criteria are eligible to be part of the project.

The ‘Dress of Joy’ mass‑wedding scheme is part of the UAE’s humanitarian campaign for Palestine launched after the war that began in October 2023.
