New airstrikes rocked parts of Gaza early Friday, just hours after the Israeli cabinet approved the framework of a ceasefire deal expected to take effect within 24 hours.

According to the Palestinian state news agency Wafa, explosions were reported at dawn in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, alongside an Israeli airstrike east of Gaza City.

Rescue teams continued to recover bodies from areas previously targeted. At least seven victims were pulled from the rubble in Gaza City, while the body of a child was found in Khan Younis, Wafa said.

The overnight strikes come amid heightened anticipation over the proposed ceasefire, which aims to halt months of conflict and ease the humanitarian crisis across the besieged territory. However, residents say the situation on the ground remains tense as both sides await official implementation of the truce.
