Dubai Police Bust Seven-Member Drug Gang Linked to International Traffickers

Dubai Police have arrested seven Asian nationals involved in promoting and distributing drugs in the emirate under instructions from a trafficker operating outside the UAE. The suspects allegedly used multiple drop-off points across the city to hide their activities and avoid detection.

Brigadier Khaled bin Muiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, confirmed that the arrests followed extensive field surveillance and coordinated operations that tracked the suspects’ movements and communications.

Crystal Meth Discovered in Initial Raid
The operation began when officers caught the first suspect in possession of crystal meth at his residence. Investigations revealed he had received orders from abroad to distribute drugs at two separate locations, each containing one kilogram of narcotics.

A subsequent carefully planned ambush led to the arrest of six other gang members, including those who had hidden the drugs and those attempting to collect them.

26kg of Drugs Seized
In total, authorities confiscated 26 kilograms of narcotics, including crystal meth, hashish, heroin, and marijuana, along with 27,913 tramadol tablets. Brigadier bin Muiza stated that the gang was part of an international network trafficking drugs into the UAE.

Police Stress Tough Action
Brigadier bin Muiza highlighted that the operation demonstrates Dubai Police’s advanced crime-fighting capabilities, which combine artificial intelligence tools with highly trained personnel. “Dubai Police will act decisively against anyone threatening public safety and dismantle trafficking networks, even those operating from abroad,” he said.
