Millions Gather in Sana’a to Celebrate Prophet Muhammad
Al-Sabeen Square in Yemen witnessed one of the largest gatherings in its history, as millions of people from the capital and nearby governorates came together to celebrate Prophet Muhammad.
The vast square, Yemen’s largest venue, overflowed with people who arrived from the early morning hours. Streets surrounding the square were also filled, creating a sea of celebrants united in chants, religious hymns, and praises.
Organizers and participants described the gathering as a powerful display of devotion, loyalty, and belonging to the Prophet, who holds a central place in Yemeni faith and heritage. Many cited the Prophet’s words: “Faith is Yemeni, and wisdom is Yemeni.”
The festival featured collective prayers, the recitation of traditional hymns, and artistic performances of devotional songs. Familiar lines such as “The full moon has risen upon us” and “Welcome, O radiant light” echoed through the air, recalling the historic verses sung in welcome to the Prophet centuries ago.
With green lights, prophetic banners, and slogans of love and faith illuminating the capital, the celebration transformed Sana’a into a majestic spiritual scene—one that, according to many, no camera could fully capture.
