Armenia and Pakistan Establish Diplomatic Relations

In a historic move, Armenia and Pakistan have officially established diplomatic relations. The announcement came after Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi signed a joint communiqué.

The agreement, signed on the sidelines of the CSO summit in Tianjin, China, emphasizes friendship and cooperation between the two nations. Both governments expressed their commitment to principles such as respect for sovereignty, non-aggression, non-interference, equality, mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence, in line with the UN Charter.

As part of the agreement, Armenia and Pakistan will exchange diplomatic representatives and provide each other with the necessary support to maintain their diplomatic relations, following international norms outlined in the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

This step marks a significant moment in strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the two countries.
